A successful competitor in both Dressage and Eventing, Debbie has over 30 years of riding experience. An active FEI Dressage competitor, trainer and coach Debbie believes that dressage training benefits every horse and rider and has worked with the competitive student, as well as the pleasure rider, eventer, jumper, barrel racer and even polo players. Her training helps to improve all horses balance, gaits and confidence.
Debbie customizes each students lesson program to support their goals within their chosen discipline while focusing on the classical principles of the Dressage training scale. Her ability to break down the many facets and complexities of equine training to the lowest level as well as her ability to encourage and build confidence in the rider makes her a dynamic and sought after instructor.
Debbie is knowledgeable, encouraging and patient and she bring an infectious enthusiasm for riding and the ability to share her knowledge with her students. She is an excellent communicator who is able to relate to the professional adult as well as young children.
In addition, Debbie is an experienced Musical Freestyle Designer and Choreographer. Since 1997 she has been creating award-winning freestyles from Introductory through Intermediare as well as Pas de Deux and Quadrille. Because of her background, Debbie is consistently sought out as a freestyle designer for members of the Virginia Region Pony Club, participants at the Hoofbeats to Hope Freestyle Challenge as well as competitors at the USDF and FEI levels. Her extensive music library contains all types of genres and is specifically selected for walk, trot and canter. Her strength in creating innovative, audience appealing, high scoring choreography is unsurpassed. Debbie knows that savvy music selections help to engage audience and judges in the dance.
